We created character mood boards in order for us to gain a visual of what we want our main characters to look and dress like.
Alice:
Alice has a dark, rocker look going on which suites her sad, moody personality as she is not a bright, vibrant, happy person. We have a mixture of outfits we want for Alice - a clean look that represents her life before her bad break up and then a rough look that represents her life after her break up - This is shown through the different make up and hairstyles, for instance, after the recognition of her break up she goes from having perfect make up to having runny make up and messy hair. We want her to wear at some point a lightish coloured top to signify how she is not the villain in this plot. We also chose this costume as it conforms to the codes and conventions of our genre and also our female target audience can associate with Alice more as they tend to wear these types of items of clothing.
Lukes look is quite similar to Alice's look, but this is due to Luke being a dark enigma of a character and can be seen as the villain. He will wear a white t-shirt at times to symbolise how he is a villain like it has been shown in various music videos we have watched. He will have facial hair and messy hair to signify how he lives a grungy, laid back lifestyle.
Based on Alice and Luke's mood board we can dress our minor characters based on these costume choices as we want the audience to see that they are part of the same group. We have also chosen these various costumes as they represent our band well as these are the types of outfits that our band are associated with and because we have 4 characters overall, each one represents a member of the band in some form.
